The beach of Fondachello – Catania – Sicily
Among the most popular beaches on the east coast of Sicily, is definitely the beach of Fondachello, a long expanse of pebbles of various sizes mixed with coarse sand, which in summer welcomes mainly local holiday makers.
The sea is clean and usually cooler than the other coasts thanks to its position exposed to winds and sea currents. On the beach there are both well-equipped bathing facilities and large open spaces. The bottom immediately becomes deep and the presence of small fish even a few steps from the shore makes it possible to make pleasant diving with mask and snorkel.

Tra le spiagge più frequentate della costa orientale della Sicilia, è sicuramente la spiaggia di Fondachello, una lunga distesa di ciottoli di varie dimensioni mischiati a sabbia grossolana, che in estate accoglie prevalentemente villeggianti locali.
Il mare è pulito e di solito più fresco rispetto agli altri litorali grazie alla posizione esposta ai venti e alle correnti marine. Sulla spiaggia sono presenti sia stabilimenti balneari ben attrezzati sia ampi spazi liberi. Il fondale diventa subito profondo e la presenza di pesci di piccole dimensioni anche a pochi passi da riva rende possibile effettuare piacevoli immersioni con maschera e boccaglio.
